Obituary for John Edward Reed

Private services will be held for John Edward Reed, 89, of Willoughby.
Mr. Reed passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2018, at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby with his family at his side.
Born Sept. 15, 1928, in Schuylkill Haven, Pa., he had lived in Myerstown, Pa., before moving to Lake County over 30 years ago.
John was a U.S. Army veteran, was a 1946 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a 1950 graduate of Penn State. He also was a HAM operator and enjoyed golfing, having a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at Painesville Country Club.
Mr. Reed had worked at Lyondell-Basel Corp., Arco Chemical, Fasson (now Avery Dennison), Olin, and Matheson Chemical Corp.
He was the beloved husband of LaMae L. (nee Shappell) Reed; loving father of Mark John (Tim Marapao) Reed of Camas, Wash., Dale Edward (Dr. Barbara Nicely) Reed of Cleveland, and Douglas Alan (Michelle) Reed of Painesville; grandfather of Nicholas Alan Reed and Benjamin Eric Reed; son of the late Edward F. and Carrie Adelia (nee Rehrer) Reed; and brother, William F. (Ruth) Reed.
Memorial cards and donations to his surviving wife and family may be sent in their name in care of the funeral home.
