Celebration of Life Service for Karl R. Delfs, 66, of Willoughby, will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., (Route 615, north of Route 2) Mentor.
Karl passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood.
Born July 23, 1952 in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident of 30 years living in Willoughby Hills and Willoughby.
He enjoyed gardening, house projects, photography, sleeping in his hammock and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to eat.
He was a driver for 7-UP for 26 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 293 from 1992 to 2011 and Local 348 from 2011 to 2018.
Karl was the beloved husband of 13 years to Monika U. (nee Kastens) Delfs; father of Melissa D. (Bud) Clouse and Glenn A. (Brandi) Delfs; cherished grandfather of Jacob, Reghan, Liam, Glen and Rowan; brother of Kenneth J. (Melody) Delfs, Kim (Rich) Maglosky and D. Kaye Bourdeau; step-father of Kristina (Michael) Joos and Scott (Patty) Szewcyk; step-grandfather of Brittney, Christopher, Chad, Matthew and Taylor; step-great grandfather of Layla, Haiden and Colsen; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth E. and Dorothy O. (nee Young) Delfs; sister, Kathleen Morris; brother-in-law, Kenneth Bourdeau; and his good friend, Uncle Albert Graves.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to Metro Health Foundation, 2500 Metro Health Dr., Towers 135A, Cleveland OH 44109-1998.
