Obituary for Joseph C Filocco
Funeral Mass for Joseph C. Filocco, 91, of Willoughby, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Filocco passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Malachi House in Cleveland.
Born July 18, 1927, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 21 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. Joseph loved sports and reading The Plain Dealer, and enjoyed being busy, but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. He was also a lifetime Cleveland Indians fan.
Mr. Filocco retired from The Cleveland Plain Dealer, where he had worked in the circulation department for 40 years.
He was the beloved husband of 19 years to Joanne M. (nee Deutsch) Filocco; loving father of Frances P. (Randall) Radefeld and Emilia (Russell) Pollina; stepfather of John J. Payne, Michael P. Payne, Kevin E. Payne and Alice L. Payne; grandfather of Ryan Radefeld and Jaclyn Radefeld; step-grandfather of John, Shannon, Tony, Michael, Sara, Joseph, Alex, A.J., Mark, Patrick, Daniel, Meggan and Kaly; and great-grandfather of John, Alene Mary, Katy, Jeremiah, Meredith, Bailey, Ava, K.J., Keegan, Emma, Riley, Malachi and Dahlia.
Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Angeline (nee Parisi) Filocco; and parents, John and Frances (nee Castellana) Filocco.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
