Obituary for Maureen A Larson

Maureen A Larson
Memorial Mass for Maureen A. Larson, 77, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. The family will greet people from 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass.
Mrs. Larson passed away unexpectedly at home Jan. 7, 2017.
She was born Jan. 15, 1939, to the late Nicholas and Irene (nee Bolger) Del Vecchio of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where she grew up in a large and loving family.
Maureen attended Boston University and worked in Cleveland for the Lubrizol Corporation for most of her adult life. Upon retirement, she frequently returned and loved the opportunity to fill-in for some of her associates when they were away.
A true “people person” and “real sweetheart,” she loved the times spent with her “Gourmet Club,” whether they were sharing a meal or attending live theater. She always looked forward to the annual autumn trek to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Maureen spoke lovingly of her special “sister trips” and visiting family both near and far. In quiet times, she loved to read and took pride in becoming tech savvy. In addition, she enjoyed volunteering with The Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Harris; and her “grand-doggie,” Oliver.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Larson, with whom she just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary Dec. 30, 2016. She was also the loving mother of Rob (Liz) Harris of North Royalton and his son Ryan Harris, Holly (Rod) Weichelt of Huachucha City, Ariz., and her children, Jeff Rau, Kelsey Fraser, and Jacob, Caitlin, and Issak Weichelt; grandmother of Lee and Kyle Harris of the Cleveland area; loving sister of Irene “June” Bock of Boulder, Colo., Bonnie (Fran) Southern of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Jim Del Vecchio, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and aunt of many special nieces and nephews.
Her extended family includes, Jeffrey (Lynne) Larson of Farmington Hills, Mich., and their children Emily and Eric (Katie) Larson, Pamela (David) Davis of Erie, Pa., and their children Sarah and Ben Davis, and Carrie (Dennis) Cray of Erie, Pa., and their daughter Jaclyn Cray.
Interment with her son in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to The Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 1852, Mentor, OH 44060.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
