Obituary for Norma Jean Holzhauser
Norma Jean Holzhauser, 83, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away March 30, 2017, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born Nov. 17, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she had lived in Bethel Park, Pa., before moving to Lake County nine years ago.
Norma was a member of NASW and a licensed independent social worker. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh.
She was the loving mother of Barbara Holzhauser of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Lisa (Ron) Judkins of South Park, Pa., Patricia Yaworski of South Park, Pa., and Allen (Lynne) Holzhauser; grandmother of Sydney Judkins, Hannah Judkins and Ethan Yaworski; sister of Peter (Nancy) Barbara and Richard (Linda) Barbara; and sister-in-law, Dolores (Bill) Patterson..
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Allen A. Holzhauser; and parents, Peter and Mary (nee Beres) Barbara.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Reformation Lutheran Church, 34730 Lakeshore Blvd., Eastlake, with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Steven Bond of Advent Lutheran Church in Mentor will officiate. Burial will be held Saturday, April 8, in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church, 34730 Lakeshore Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
