Obituary for Willie E "Ed" and "Fast Eddie" Simmons Sr.
A celebration of life service for Willie “Ed” Simmons Sr., 75, a longtime resident of Willoughby, will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at The Country Baptist Church, 9054 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Willie “Ed” “Fast Eddie” Simmons, born March 23, 1942, went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 31, 2017, after an extended illness at his home in Willoughby.
He was a member of The Country Baptist Church and a retired truck driver. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ed was the son of the late Willie B. and Mollie (nee Hillis) Simmons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Leona (nee Castle); daughter, Marchelle (Steve) Epperson of Mentor; son, Ed (Helena) Simmons of Mentor; grandchildren, Eddie (Lindsey) and Kayla Simmons (Matt Mocilnikar); great-grandson, Clayton Mocilnikar; brother, Ronald (Sharon) Simmons; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to The Country Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
