Funeral Mass for Rosemary Margaret Lennon, 92, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Lennon passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
She was born June 25, 1924, in Cleveland.
Rosemary went to business college, and Cuyahoga Community College, where she studied medical terminology. She worked for a business temporary agency and held positions at the Cleveland Board of Education, Nela Park, and Charity Hospital. What Rosemary will be most remembered for was her unwavering faith and her fierce love of her family. As a single parent, she raised her five children making sure they were well educated in the Catholic faith. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, especially Tom and Carolyn Lennon, whom she helped raise after they lost their father. We all will dearly miss her independent yet gentle personality.
Rosemary was the loving mother of Joe Lennon, Peg Hoban, Jack Lennon and Bill (Kathy) Lennon; cherished grandmother of Aimee Lennon (fiancé, Doug White), Katie (Marty) Kelly, Seamus Hoban (Amanda Moore), Bridget (Jeff) Miller, Carolyn Lennon, Tom Lennon, Brian Lennon, Sean Lennon (Amy Anderson), Chrissy Lennon and Kelly Lennon; great-grandmother of James and Graham Miller, Jared Gonzales, Devin and John Lennon, Maeve and Cora Kelly and Stella Moore; mother-in law of Carol Lennon, Virginia Lennon and Tina Lennon; aunt and great-aunt of many.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Lennon; son-in-law, Jim Hoban; parents, George E. and Margaret Mary (nee Casey) Moynihan; and siblings, Rev. Eugene Moynihan and Jerry Moynihan.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the Mass. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Montefiore.
