Obituary for Lynn Marie Ross
Funeral Mass for Lynn Marie (nee Norton) Ross, 73, of Mentor, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Mrs. Ross passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Nov. 13, 1943, in Cleveland, she grew up in South Euclid, and had lived in Cleveland Heights before moving to Lake County 44 years ago.
Lynn was a member of the Christ Child Society. She was proud to be a part of Helping Hands and was previously a PSR teacher at St. Bede the Venerable Church. She was an active member of Little Mountain Garden Club, a “competitive” Ping-Pong player, and loved to play Bridge at the Mentor Senior Center and with many local bridge groups. She was also a past member of the Western Reserve Service League and worked as an RN at the Cleveland Clinic for 10 years.
Lynn was the beloved wife of 50 years to Dennis W. Ross; loving mother of Susan M. (Guy) Witherite of Mentor, Michelle J. (Chris) Sherman of Kettering, Michael J. (Mary) Ross of Columbus, Sharon L. (Aaron) Baker of Shaker Heights, Diane L. Staton of Mentor, and David W. (Susan) Ross of Rochester; cherished grandmother of Morgan, Tommy, Aidan, Lauren, Zeke, Kian, Logan, Ella, William, Nicholas and Clara; sister of Karen (James) Rauen, Robert Norton, George (Dottie) Norton, Tommy (Kathy) Norton and Jeanne Naccarato; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Henry; granddaughter, Faith; brother-in-law, Stan; and parents, Robert J. and Loretta E. (nee Cramer) Norton.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 1852, Mentor, OH 44060 (440-350-9836).
