Burial services for Richard M. Manning, 78, will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at the St. Gabriel Mausoleum in All Souls Cemetery.
Dick passed away on his birthday, May 8, 2017, in Lapeer, Mich.
He was born May 8, 1939, in Cleveland.
Dick graduated from St. Joseph High School and John Carroll University. After graduation from JCU, Dick went to work for both Ford Motors in Detroit, Mich., and Hobart in Troy.
Dick had a love for the theater both as a performer and as a director. He belonged to many benevolent organizations such as the FOE and Moose Clubs. Dick was a committed volunteer for the American Red Cross, giving back to his community as a caring person.
He is survived by daughter, Colleen (Ron) Balmer of Lapeer Mich.; granddaughter, Ashlynn Balmer; siblings, Jeannette Manning, Rita Manning, Frank P. Manning Jr., Kathleen Manning, Rosemary Manning and Coletta (John) DiCello; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Manning and Carol Manning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth (nee O’Connor) Manning; brothers, Gene Manning and Donald Manning Sr.; and sisters, Ruth Manning, Patricia (Don, dec.) Hughes and Mary Ellen Friend.
