Obituary for Richard L George

Richard L  George
Funeral Mass for Richard L. George, 88, of Willoughby, will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Timothy Kalista will officiate the Mass.
Mr. George passed away June 6, 2017, at Fairmount Health Care Center in Willoughby.
Born July 12, 1928, in Cleveland, he had been a lifelong resident of Lake County.
Richard was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, was a member and had served as Past President of IBEW Local 673 and a member and Past Secretary of the Wireman’s Golf Association, attended Willoughby Union High School, a member of the Willoughby Elks and was a decorated athlete in track and field.
He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Teresa J. (nee Clifford) George; loving father of Richard L. (Laurie) George Jr., Daniel M. (Betty) George, Dale J. (Marie) George, Randy D. (Teresa) George, David R. George, Catherine R. (Jim) Lynch, Mike J. (Judy) George, Gary J. George and Thomas R. (Lisa) George; cherished grandfather of Casey, Lisa, Tricia, Andrea, Debbie, Emily, Kathleen, Joshua, Garett, Carley, Jenny, Sharon, Christy, Aaron, Chad, Melanie, Griffin, Lucas, Hannah, Spencer, Angie, Miriam, Kelsey, Scott, Sam, Lauryn, Emily, TJ, Grace and Joey; great-grandfather of 29; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Parker and Lily Mae (nee Yost) George; siblings, Howard (Marcia) George and Betty (Fred Nye); and daughter-in-law, Joyce George.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
