Obituary for Roger Loos

A celebration of life services for Roger Loos, 88, of Willoughby, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lyons Chapel in the Nason Center at Ohio Living Breckenridge, 36859 Ridge Road, Willoughby. The Rev. Kurt D. Walker will officiate.
Roger passed away peacefully Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Wickliffe Country Place, surrounded by his family.
Born Oct. 14, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., he had lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County more than 50 years ago.
Roger was a U.S. Army veteran, self-employed claims adjuster, attended Shore Haven Lutheran Church, volunteered at Chagrin Metroparks and was a former Cub Scout Troop Leader. He loved traveling, camping, square dancing, music and making ship and aircraft models. Roger was an avid baseball fan and had tried out for the Cleveland Indians in his youth.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Dee L. (nee Bart) Loos; loving father of Kirt Loos, Brett (Carla) Loos, Bart Loos and Chet Loos; cherished grandfather of Kyle, Savannah, Carmen, Mitchell, Marina, Justin, Jarrod and Jessica; and great-grandfather of Andrew and Gabriel. He was a family man who will be dearly missed.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen (nee Schroeder) Loos.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the celebration Thursday at The Lyons Chapel in the Nason Center at Ohio Living in Breckenridge Village.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
