Obituary for Lyle C Ruby
Celebration of Life services for Lyle C. Ruby, 78, of Eastlake, will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Ruby passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 27, 1939, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 52 years.
Lyle was a coach for more than 25 years with the Eastlake Midget Football League, coaching Syracuse. He was also involved with the traveling league, serving as President of the Northcoast Youth Football League. Lyle was honored in 1996 as Eastlake Citizen of the Year, was a member of the Eastlake Moose Lodge, and enjoyed sports, especially football and NASCAR.
He was the former husband of Rose M. Ruby; loving father of Donna L. (Todd) Schinke, Tina L. Lors and Lorie A. (Michael) Earl; father-in-law of Edward Lors; cherished grandfather of Bryan (Danielle), Crissy, April (fiancé, Christopher); Lindsay (fiancé, Nick), Joshua, Justin and Michael (Nicole); brother of Danielle Wargo; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He also leaves his cat, Tequila.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Erma (nee Thompson) Ruby; and brothers, Charles Thompson and Don Ruby Sr.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
