Donald L  Peterson
Celebration of Life services for Donald L. Peterson, 76, of Mentor, will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Fr. Clyde Foster will officiate.
Mr. Peterson passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sept. 27, 1940, in Cross Creek Township, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for 40 years.
Donald was a U.S. Army veteran, loved boating and golfing, and enjoyed working on and fixing cars. He was a very good handyman.
He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Janice L. (nee Kernc) Peterson; loving father of Cathleen M. (Michael) Slemc, Tommy G. Peterson (Siobhan Smith) and Brian K. Peterson; cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn M. Griffith and Cody D. Griffith; brother of Butch (Pat) Peterson, Kenny (Geraldine) Peterson and Jeff (Rosi) Clarkin; brother-in-law of Marge Peterson, and Richard (Linda) Kernc; and uncle and great-uncle of many.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Fern (nee Klink) Peterson; and brother, Fred Peterson.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
