Funeral Mass for Yvonne L. Marec, 90, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. The Rev. Tom Johns will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
Mrs. Marec was carried away by angels on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at Brookdale in Willoughby.
Born May 3, 1927, she was a servant of Jesus and retired homemaker. Yvonne’s loving heart lead to her welcoming into her home many ill family members whom she cared for till their home going. For many decades she was an active member and Eucharistic minister at St. John Vianney. Yvonne was a very caring person who also loved animals, especially her dog, Toby, and cockatiel, Fritzi. She enjoyed reading, travelling and the challenge of a good crossword puzzle.
Yvonne was the grandma to Hannah, Sarah, Aaron and Isabella; aunt of Tom (Jackie) Dembek and Rodney Ball; and cousin of Katarina (Matthew) Schulz. She is also survived by her family in Slovakia.
Mrs. Marec was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Marec; mother, Bernice Drumm; auntie, Dorothy “Dodo” Johnson, Mildred Johnson and Genevieve Ball.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
