Obituary for Robert Lee Mahoney
Celebration of Life service for Robert Lee Mahoney, 82, of Eastlake, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Robert passed away Sunday Sept. 3, 2017 at his residence.
Born Feb. 8, 1935 in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for 55 years living in Eastlake and had previously lived in Cleveland.
Robert was employed by East Ohio Gas Company, retiring in 1994 after 32 years of service.
He was veteran of the U. S. Army. He loved playing golf and bowling. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special and he loved spending time with them.
Robert was the loving father of Jean P. (Tony Shugar) Soucek, James R. (Christine) Mahoney and David E. Mahoney; cherished grandfather of James M. Mahoney, Lynley M. Soucek, Carly D. (Tony Basista) Soucek, Carla L. (Tom) Mahoney Ott and Justin M. Mahoney; great grandfather of Dominic and Elliana; brother of Patricia Tomblin; brother-in-law of Sally Mahoney and Richard Fiorentini; foster brother of Robert Spence; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy J. (nee McNeel) Mahoney; two infant children; parents, William R. and Gladys (nee Klukan) Mahoney and foster parents, Fred and Beatrice (nee Manders) Spence; siblings, Richard Mahoney, Donald (Ann) Mahoney, and Betty Fiorentini; and foster sister, June McDonough.
Family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
