Marguerite "Peggy"  Clason
Memorial services for Marguerite “Peggy” (nee Carlson) Clason, 76, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 10848 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland.
Peggy passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born April 3, 1941, in New Britain, Conn., she had been a resident of Lake County for 54 years, living in Mentor and Willoughby.
Peggy was a 1959 graduate of New Britain High School in Connecticut, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Upsala College in East Orange, N.J. with a B.A. in English and Religion in 1963, a 1981 graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Ill., and received M.Div. Certification: Clinical Pastoral Education in 1984, Hospice Chaplaincy in 1986, Marriage and Family Counseling in 1990 and Bereavement Counseling in 1991. She also loved to travel and enjoyed reading, writing and swimming.
Mrs. Clason worked at Penton Publishing from 1963-1966; East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Mentor as Director of Religious Education from 1972 to 1981 and as Minister of Religious Education from 1981 to 1988, and Unitarian Universalist Church of Cleveland in Cleveland Heights as a Minister from 1988 to 2005, retiring as Minister Emerita in 2005. She was the co-author of Consider the Basics, Unitarian Universalist Association, Boston, MA, and Pastoral Care Contract Minister at East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Mentor.
She was the beloved wife of 54 years to Donald L. Clason; loving mother of Christine P. (Mark) Briede and Eric D. (Victoria) Clason; cherished grandmother of Lauren N. Briede, Nicholas M. Clason and Natalie C. Clason; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Arvid and Dorothea (nee Walleen) Carlson.
