Funeral Mass for Irene V. (nee Kamber) Pasalaqua, 90, of Mentor-on-the-Lake will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Peter Morris will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Pasalaqua passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at her residence in Mentor surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 29, 1927, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for more than 63 years.
Irene was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor and the German Club.
She was the loving mother of Julie A. Poe and Margaret J. (Lawrence) Koval; cherished grandmother of Barbara French, Michele (Kevin) Beuck, Randy Pasalaqua, Jason (Renee) Hedges, John Hedges, Danielle (Denver) Thomas, Dominick (Tina) Cox, Kristen (Craig) Haislip and Alexander Koval; great-grandmother of Bailey, Edward, Antoinette, Kassandra, Jordan, Dalton, Austin and Dominick; and an aunt of several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her longtime friends and caregivers, Bob, Andy, Sue and Sandy; and her devoted cat, “Blackie.”
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominick Pasalaqua; daughters, Marie A. French and Karen M. Hedges; son-in-law, Albert French; grandchildren, Denise French and Joseph Hedges; parents, Joseph and Julia (nee Kaucic) Kamber; and siblings, Frank Penko, John Penko and Margaret Kamber.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
