Norma Jean  Whitmer
Mass of Christian Burial for Norma Jean (nee Olinske) Whitmer, 86, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at St. Noel Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.
Mrs. Whitmer passed away peacefully at Symphony at Mentor Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018.
Born July 7, 1931, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., she was a lifelong resident of Wickliffe, moved to Waterford of Richmond Heights before subsequently residing at Symphony at Mentor, where she received excellent care by her caregivers and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Norma was retired from Rotor Tool Company of Euclid as an assembly and office worker. She enjoyed working at Cardiovascular Consultants of Cleveland as a medical records clerk after her initial retirement.
She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, going to the casino and cheering on the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors are her daughters, Jean (Vernon) Shimko of San Antonio, Tex., Gloria (Thomas) Majeski of Willoughby Hills, and Caroline (Gary) Moss of Rock Hill, S.C.; son, Ronald (Diana) Whitmer of Willowick; grandchildren, Jeremy (Dorota) Whitmer, Michael Majeski, Gabrielle and Brett Moss; and great-grandchildren, Henry and Julian Whitmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Marie (nee Miller) Olinske; sister, Patricia Solymosi; and brother, Paul Olinske.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
