Funeral Mass for Barbara S. Johnston, 75, of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Peter Morris will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Johnston passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born April 30, 1943, in Altoona, Pa., she had lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Lake County 45 years ago.
Barbara was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor.
She had worked as a registered nurse for Lake Hospital System prior to her retirement.
Barbara was the loving wife of 53 years to Charles M. Johnston; beloved mother of Colleen M. (Robert) Korosi, Cynthia M. (Kevin) Schilling and Christine M. (Craig) Mossbruger; cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn, Michael, Andrew, Jacob, Abigail, Spencer and Chloe; sister of Steve (Fran) Szynal; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Caroline (nee Knutelski) Szynal.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
