Joseph M  Lorek
Joseph M. Lorek, 65, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born Feb. 21, 1953, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for the majority of his life, residing in Mentor.
Mr. Lorek was a member of Laborer’s Union Local 310, and Willoughby Knights of Columbus Council 2886. Joseph loved to spend time with his family and always enjoyed playing cards and board games with them. He was a diehard Cleveland sports fan, loved Star Wars and was a very avid gardener, who enjoyed making his own pickles.
Joseph was the beloved husband of 34 years to Barbara A. (nee Middleton) Lorek; loving father of Elizabeth A. Lorek (Kevin O’Connor), and John P. Lorek (Angela Ciani); brother of Theresa (Mark) Zebkar and Susan Fitzgerald; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph W. Lorek, U.S.M.C.; parents, Joseph and Theresa (nee Wayslaw) Lorek; and sister, Linda Kipp.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a celebration of life service to be held 7:30 p.m. Private burial will be held at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
