Obituary for Robert A "Bob" Murphy

Robert A. “Bob” Murphy, 72, of Wickliffe passed away peacefully at his residence on July 10, 2018, with his family by his side.
He was born April 15, 1946, in Cleveland.
Bob graduated from Wickliffe High School in 1964. Bob was a lifetime resident of Wickliffe. He was a born again evangelical Catholic, a talk show radio host on America News & Views and served as the Ohio Central Committeeman of the twenty-fifth senatorial district. He was a successful small business owner of R.A. Murphy Co. for 47 years. Bob was a member of the Irish American Club East-Side Inc., and a fourth degree Knights of Columbus. He loved to fish and play chess with his grandchildren, play pool with friends, and cruise in his convertible with his wife. He lived life to the fullest.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Lauren (nee Gieseler); children, Tara Seibel (Aaron) of Pepper Pike, Lauren Murphy-Holder (Mark) of Spokane, Wash., and Bob Murphy of Wickliffe; grandchildren, Lauren Seibel, Patrick Seibel, Oscar Seibel, Colt Holder and Hope Holder; siblings, Bonny Reid (Norm), Mike Schrader and Jack Saylor (Tara); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Rose Murphy; and sister, Barbara Bodle.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in memory of Bob 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, OH.
