Obituary for Richard E Lawton

Richard E. Lawton, 77, of Willoughby, passed away July 20, 2018, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born July 30, 1940, he resided in Yonkers, N.Y., until he met the love of his life, Patricia, and moved to Lake County, where he lived for over 56 years in Wickliffe, Mentor and Willoughby.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Richard loved and appreciated the simple pleasures in life – his lovely home and garden, his dear cats, good food, good drink, good books, good music and spending time with family and friends, especially with his wife and three girls.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Patricia L. (nee Drake) Lawton; loving father of Julianne Lawton (James Schrems), Karen M. Enoch (Gary Setler) and Alyssa C. (Michael) Kochilla; cherished grandfather of Erik Kochilla; dear brother of Joan Horne; and a wonderful uncle to nieces and nephews in New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Ohio and Canada.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott George and Hazel (nee Miller) Lawton; brother-in-law, Charles Horne and sisters-in-law, Patricia Drake and Carolyn Drake.
A private service/celebration will be held for Richard at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
