Obituary for William J Green

Funeral Mass for William J. Green, 85, of Willoughby Hills, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Green passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at Lantern of Madison.
Born April 23, 1933, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for more than 50 years, living in Willowick before moving to Willoughby Hills.
William was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, loved sports, and enjoyed golf, fishing, boating and water sports.
Mr. Green was a union plumber, retiring from Smith & OBY.
He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Irene L. (nee Barbarto) Green; loving father of Lynn M. (Edward) Canale, Kathleen A. Canale, Susan E. (John) Contento and Ellen M. (Robert) Howerton; cherished grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of many; brother of Geraldine Jameson and Maureen (John) Heraghty; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his son, James J. Green; parents, James and Lillian (nee Mulgrew) Green; and sister, Eilleen Green.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
