Obituary for William M Flynn Jr.

Funeral services for William M. Flynn Jr., 84, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Mentor Ave., Painesville. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mr. Flynn passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at his residence.
Born Sept. 21, 1934, in New Haven, Conn., he had been a resident of Lake County for 54 years.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville, member of the Mentor Senior Center, a founding member of the Mentor Bantam Football League, was formerly active with Mentor Girls Softball, having been responsible for the first Mentor Girls Traveling softball team and league, and loved spending time with his grandsons.
Mr. Flynn worked at Addressograph-Multigraph Company as an industrial engineer and as manager of the Koenig Sporting Goods Store in the Great Lakes Mall for many years. He retired from the Mentor Schools, where he had worked as a custodian at Headlands Elementary School.
He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Rosemarie V. (nee Mendat) Flynn; loving father of Deborah Rose Flynn, Linda M. (Brett) Weaver and Patricia V. Flynn; cherished grandfather of Trevor, Justin and Zachary; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua; parents, William M. Sr. and Beatrice (nee Gardecki) Flynn; and sister, Julia Beck.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
