Funeral Service Trends
We've been in funeral service for many years and we've found that our profession is undergoing a great deal of change. The needs and expectations of the families we serve are changing and we've responded with funeral service options tailored to these new expectations and desires.
Two generations ago, traditional funerals with a visitation and a funeral service followed by a committal service were commonplace. It's what everyone expected. As family demographics evolved and the demand for cremation services rose, there has been a shift in the form of funeral services. Many more families are choosing cremation and holding a memorial service afterwards. Family members and friends still came together to pay their respects to the deceased and find emotional support but they do so in less formal ways.
Today, memorial services have been joined by another funeral service option, the celebration-of-life service. There are few limitations restricting how, where, and when the life of a loved one can be celebrated; a family's imagination can run free. We've seen celebrations-of-life where the dancing to live music went on for hours. We've also witnessed a celebration-of-life held as part of a local little theater performance. Thinking about Your Funeral Service Options
The funeral arrangements you make will have much to do with very personal factors: the lifestyle of the deceased, the time of year, your budget, and the number of people in attendance. We know these are big considerations and we're here to help. That's what we do; it's our passion to help families celebrate the life of their loved one. There is no way we can tell you exactly how it should be done. Only you and your family can do that and it's your job to tell us.
