Obituary for Vincent A Valenti

Vincent A  Valenti
Funeral Mass for Vincent A. Valenti, 100, of Eastlake, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. (Please meet at the church.) Fr. Tim Kalista will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Valenti passed away Oct. 18, 2016, at Wickliffe Country Place.
Born July 26, 1916, in Jamestown, N.Y., he had been a Lake County resident for the past 45 years.
Vincent was a U.S. Army combat veteran of World War II, serving in the Tanker Division under the command of General George Patton, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received two Purple Hearts. He was also a longtime musician, playing the accordion, guitar and piano, was a member of the Cleveland Musician’s Union, loved golf and enjoyed sports.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Vincent was preceded in death by his loving companion, Ann M. Hoag; parents, Charles and Concetta (nee Giambra) Valenti; and siblings, Clara (Samuel) Saccone, Jenny Meske, Pauline Victor, Grace (Eugene) Gregg and Jean (Richard) Sherrod.
Family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
