Chris M  Herda
Chris M. Herda, 35, of Fairport Harbor, beloved son of Mark and Shari Herda, passed away Dec. 30, 2017, at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1981, in Willoughby, he had been a lifelong resident of Lake County, living in Mentor before moving to Fairport Harbor.
Chris graduated from Mentor High School, Class of 2000. He worked for Lake County as a grounds maintenance keeper. Chris had a passion for camping and enjoying life. You could always find Chris in his kayak on the river, relishing every minute he had with a smile on his face while putting a smile on everyone else around him. Chris was a great friend to many and was surrounded with an amazing group of friends that loved him dearly.
Chris was the dearest son of Mark and Shari (nee Lewis) Herda; brother of Dawn Ryan (Jon Rasch), Ryan Herda (Megan Newkirk), and Matthew (Julia) Herda; loving uncle of Brandon and Logan Ryan, Shealyn, McKayla, Olivia and Bennett Herda; and beloved grandson of Carl Lewis. He also leaves his best companion, his loving dog, Murphy; along with several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marie Lewis, Steve and Margaret Herda.
Family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor, with a service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. A celebration of Life will take place at a later time in Loudonville.
