Obituary for Eugene J Iacona

Funeral Mass for Eugene J. Iacona, 85, of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mr. Iacona passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Jan. 29, 1933, in Altoona, Pa., he had lived in Lyndhurst and the Richmond Heights area before moving to Lake County 27 years ago.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor and Alzheimer’s support groups, and enjoyed golf, sports and gardening. Eugene always put his family first.
He was the loving father of Kathy (Chip) Cappelucci, Carol (Gary) Nettleton, Karen (Dale) Politi, Eugene Iacona, Grace (Vic) Marrazzo and Joe Iacona; cherished grandfather of Dana, Corie (Travis), Daniel, Matt, Jamie, Amanda (Josh), Brittany, Kristina, Doreen, Carly, Vincent, Gabrielle and Joey; and great-grandfather of Charlee and Quinn.
Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan L. (nee Wargo) Iacona in 2011; and parents, Charles and Josephine (nee Luciano) Iacona.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
