Obituary for Richard E. Broz

Funeral Mass for Richard E. Broz, 84, of Willowick, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, E. 321 St and Vine Street, Willowick. Fr. Steve Breck will officiate at the Mass.
Mr. Broz passed away peacefully where he was cared for with love and compassion on Saturday, Mar. 10, 2018 at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born June 10, 1933 in Cleveland, he was a resident of Lake County for 60 years.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany as an occupational engineer.
Richard played saxophone and was a member of the “Musical Troubadours” which was a popular band of the 1950’s.
He worked for P.F. Nolan, in Chardon, as a journeyman plumber for 30 years and was a member of the Local 55 Plumbers Union. He then worked as a maintenance plumber at Euclid General Hospital for eight years.
Richard enjoyed fishing, building wood warplane models and feeding the neighborhood birds and squirrels. He was a faithful Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns fan, and enjoyed NASCAR racing. But his greatest joy was the gathering of family and friends where endless laughter and stories were shared. He will be sadly missed.
Richard was the loving father of Rick (Joanne) Broz, Joe (Bonnie) Broz and Rosemarie (Chris) Mihalek; cherished grandfather of Joey (Megan) Broz, Angela (Dustin) Mills, David (Desiray) Broz and Richard (Amanda) Broz; great grandfather of Bailey, Kelsey, Abigail and Annabelle Elizabeth; and uncle of David (Susie) Boda.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Broz; parents, Edward and Lillian (nee Seabold) Broz; and sister, Jean Boda.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland OH 44110.
