Funeral Mass for Margarete F. (nee Kovach) Saletel, 86, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Timothy Kalista will officiate the Mass. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mrs. Saletel passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Grand River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 19, 1931, in Cleveland, she had lived in Mayfield Heights before moving to Willoughby 29 years ago.
Margarete was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and Holmes Avenue Pensioners KRAS #8. Her family was her #1 priority and she enjoyed cleaning, baking, cooking and making a loving home for them.
She was the loving mother of Edmund R. (Judith) Saletel Jr. and Diane M. (John) Phillips; cherished grandmother of Kelly (Tony) Sharaba, Lynn (Nick) Turchan, Kristin (Chad) Komocki and Kevin Saletel; great-grandmother of Courtney, Gia, Anthony, Nicky, Sam and Alice; sister of Ann Marie Vene and Linda (Dennis) Balaban; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Margarete was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmund R. Saletel Sr. in 1982; grandson, Michael Saletel; and parents, Frank and Anna (nee Laurich) Kovach.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
