Obituary for Jay Calvin Everly

Memorial services for Jay C. Everly, 91, of Eastlake, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Everly passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Fairmount Health Care Center in Willoughby.
Born Oct. 19, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he had lived in Florida before moving to Lake County.
Jay was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, contributor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and loved animals, helping animals in distress.
Mr. Everly had worked in maintenance throughout his lifetime.
He was the loving father of Cheryl McGrevin of Washington, Pa., Kathryn Lynn Eding of Mentor, Curt Douglas Everly of Bedford, Darlene McGrevin of McKees Rocks, Pa., Steven Michael Everly of Tennessee, Sandra Lee Goble of Eastlake, Mary Ellen Peterson of Austin, Pa., Clarence Swank of Emporium, Pa., and Bobby Swank of Pennsylvania; great-grandfather of many; and brother of Cliff Everly. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jay was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (nee Hyde) Everly; son, Jay John Everly, formerly of Austin, Pa.; daughter, Joan Arlene Everly, formerly of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; parents, Emmett Earl and Kathryn Mae (nee Jordan) Everly; and brother, Earl Everly.
Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
