Obituary for Marion L "Muggsy" Grdina
Funeral Mass for Marion L. “Muggsy” (nee Lachvayder) Grdina, 87, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8540 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Fr. Thomas Elsasser will officiate. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mrs. Grdina passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at her residence.
Born June 24, 1931, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for more than 47 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Mentor.
Marion was a member of St. Jerome’s Church in Cleveland.
She was the loving mother of Mindee J. (Ric) Harris, Lisa R. Grdina and Andrea L. (John) Topoly; cherished grandmother of Nicolas and Zacary; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Grdina in 2011; parents, Andrew and Johana (nee Gvart) Lachvayder; and siblings, George Lachvayder, Lucille McDevitt, Edward Lachvayder, Thomas Lachvayder and Rose Sefcik.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
