Funeral Mass for Helene W. (nee Powers) Kane, 87, of Willoughby, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ss. Robert and William Parish, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid.
Mrs. Kane passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at the Slovene Home for the Aged in Cleveland.
Born July 16, 1931, in Cleveland, she had been a longtime Cuyahoga County resident.
Helene was a former member of St. Robert’s Church, and a long standing member of the Irish American Club-East Side Inc., and enjoyed steak shoots, playing the slots and attending the art museum with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and polkas and in her later years her books on tape.
Mrs. Kane was a retired realtor from Hilltop, Realty One and Chicago Title, and was the former owner of Tradewinds Bar in Euclid.
She was the loving mother of James P. Kane Jr., Peggy (Brian) Murphy, Patty Murphy, Sharon Kane and Mary Klauer; cherished grandmother of Patrick (Katie), Elizabeth (Chris), David (Enzo), Jessica (Lewis), Patrick, Dylan, Ryan, Kevin, Sean, Aileen (Jack), Shannon and Patrick; great-grandmother of Hattie, Henry, Arlo, Reagan, Alyssa and Olivia; sister of Norma Smith; Rosemary Ratusz, and Nan (Dominic) DeCrescenzo; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Helene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Kane Sr.; daughter-in-law, Eileen M. Uland; parents, Norman and Jane (nee Harkins) Powers; brother, Donald Powers; brothers-in-law, Thomas Smith and Chet Ratusz; and sister-in-law, Joan Powers.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Private burial will be held at All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
