Obituary for Diane Jean Garry

Print
Diane Jean Garry, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, born Monday, Sept. 1, 1958, in Euclid, to her loving parents, the late Norton F. “Barney” Boston and Jean L. (nee Fertig) Boston, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, in Mount Gilead.
Born and raised in Ohio and California, she graduated from Willoughby South High School in 1976, and later furthered her education by receiving her bachelor’s degree in Business from Cleveland State University.
Diane married the love of her life, Timothy D. Garry, June 9, 2001. She cherished being his wife and working side by side with him building their newspaper and print business. After her husband’s death Oct. 13, 2014, Diane continued running the business.
Diane loved being a mom to her daughter, Emily. She loved assisting at her daughter’s school events and was not known to miss a game. Diane was strong and independent and modeled that for her daughter. She was known to be generous and giving and loved treating others by taking them on her travel excursions. Diane had an incredible sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing interesting novels, politics or world events. She loved to travel and experience different cultures and cuisines. She also had a huge passion for all of her many German Shepherds throughout her years.
Diane will be dearly missed by her daughter, Emily (Sean) Kearnely of Valdosta, Ga.; mother, Jean (nee Fertig) Boston of Auburn, Calif.; brother, James Boston of Auburn, Calif; three sisters, MaryAnn (Joe) Wilkinson of Bremerton, Wash., Joan (Tim) Bechtel of Stateline, Nev., and Janet (Aaron) Swain of McKinney, Texas; nephew, Daniel (Brittany) Marks of Fort Worth, Texas; niece, Meghan (Bill) McCollum of Goffstown, N.H.; many more nieces and nephews throughout the country; and of course her beloved dog, Bella.
Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tim; father, Barney Boston; grandmother, Clara Boston; and her niece, Shelly Boston Milinichik.
Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Diane’s life to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately with family.
In lieu of Flowers the family has requested that a donation be made to the Humane Society in honor of Diane.
