Obituary for Phyllis A Balazs

Funeral Mass for Phyllis A. (nee Whitely) Balazs, 84, of Willoughby, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mrs. Balazs passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. After four long years, Phyllis was able to join her loving husband, Steve on the anniversary of his passing on Dec. 8, 2014.
Born April 5, 1934, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for 46 years.
Phyllis was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, loved her family and enjoyed word search puzzles.
She was the loving mother of Steve (Sandy) Balazs, Dennis Balazs, Mary Beth (Rich) Grgic, Kim (Ken) Flanagan, Patricia (Tom) Linden, Julianne (Ron) DeMao, and Catherine S. Balazs; cherished grandmother of Matthew (Nicole) Balazs, Mary (nee Balasz) (Brian) Spalding, Amber (nee Balazs) (Brian) Pekarek, Andrew (Amanda) Linden, Casandra Linden, Brendan Flanagan, Meaghan Flanagan, Martin (fiancee, Madeline) Flanagan, Sarah (nee Grgic) Coy, Rebekah Grgic, Claire (nee Gregic) (Tim) Caldarea, Luke Grgic, Samantha Schlaiffer, and Elizabeth Schlaiffer; great-grandmother of Colton Linden, Charlie Elizabeth Linden, Sawyer Linden, Kaylie Coy, Brayden Coy, Gracie Spaulding, Oliver Spaulding and Nellie Pekarek; sister of Agnes Kost, Sr. Ann Whitely, O.S.U., and John (Mary Ann) Whitely; sister-in-law of Mary Whitely and Cathy Whitely; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steve Balazs; children, Annie Balazs and David Joseph Balazs; parents, Philip and Susan (nee Kearney) Whitely; siblings, Patricia Lorig, James Whitely, Sr. Anita Whitely, O.S.U., and Kevin Whitely; and brother-in-law, Bernie Kost.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
