Obituary for Don F Luther

Don F. Luther, 79, passed away March 4, 2019.
Don was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, living in Mentor, Painesville, Euclid, Concord and most recently Eastlake. He graduated from Mentor High School in 1957.
Don owned several businesses including Courttime Sports at Racquettime and Riverview, and Western Reserve Plumbing Supply. Don spent the majority of his adult life working in wholesale plumbing. He began his career at Active Plumbing Supply at the age of 18. He then worked/co-owned Western Reserve Plumbing Supply until it was sold in 2001 to Cleveland Plumbing, where he worked until he retired in 2015.
He was an athlete and avid sports enthusiast. He met his wife while skating at Walton’s roller rink. He enjoyed playing handball, racquetball, volleyball, softball, bowling, boating, waterskiing, snow skiing and golf. Don was an avid world traveler. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing and he and Joan competed in dance competitions in the United States and Canada.
Don is the beloved husband of 55 years to Joan (nee White); loving father of Tina (Tony) Sullivan, and Lori (Kurt) Nebe; devoted grandfather of Jacquelyn and Devin Nebe, and Cheyenne and Jack Sullivan; dear great-grandfather of Peyton Nebe; dearest brother to Janet (William) Zgrebnak; caring uncle of Jeffrey (Amy) Zgrebnak and Wendy (Christian) Trem-Woodruff.
Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 5 pm Saturday, March 16, 2019 at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., (located on the ground of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, a Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. with light refreshments to follow. Friends of the family are invited to bring a smile and a good story.
