Obituary for Maria Refugio Mendoza Puente
Funeral service for Maria Refugio Mendoza Puente, 78, of Painesville, will be 11 a.m. Friday, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, North of Route 2), Mentor.
Maria passed away, Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood.
Born July 4, 1941, in Estancia de Vaqueros Guanajuato, Mexico, she had been a Lake County resident for 25 years, living in Painesville.
Maria was very religious and had a lot of faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She spent most of her time praying the Rosary and for her family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed feeding people. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Maria was kind and genuinely cared for people. May she rest in peace in the arms of her husband and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be missed “Until we meet again.”
Maria was one of eight children, which included four sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind 10 children; 39 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Carlos Munoz Arriaga (2016); and parents, Verulo Mendoza and Timotea Puente.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, in Painesville.
