Tibor Magyari, 75, of Mentor, passed away July 1, 2019, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby, surrounded by his loving family on what would have been his 52nd wedding anniversary.
Born June 25, 1944, in Marosvasarhely, Transylvania, he had been a resident of Lake County for more than 20 years, coming to this country with barely any money, but with a dream of the freedom to make a better life.
Tibor loved to take walks and enjoyed technology. He lived for the betterment of others, always giving what he could to his family and friends and taking care of everyone, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Magyari spent his life dedicated to food service. He had worked as a chef, including owning Dresslers Snitchel House in Quebec, Canada.
He was the beloved husband of Stefanie (nee Buchtele) Magyari; loving father of Stefan, Claudia and Christopher Magyari; cherished grandfather of Cassidy Magyari, Tristan Magyari and Aedan Magyar/Hurst; and brother of Ernos Magyari. He also leaves his niece, Erika (nee Magyari) Battaglia; two nephews, two great-nephews, and one great-niece.
Tibor was preceded in death by his parents, Janos and Erzsebet (nee Gyorgy) Magyari; and brother, Janos Magyari.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, with a memorial prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Edward Mikkelsen, grandfather of Aedan will preside.
