Obituary for Robert A Gildone
Funeral Mass for Robert A. Gildone Sr., 71, of Grand River, will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Gildone passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at The Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland.
Born Aug. 23, 1947, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for over 20 years, living in Mentor and Grand River.
Robert was a former member of St. Peter’s Church in Cleveland and Greyhound Pets of America. He also served as a councilman for the Village of Grand River, and enjoyed boating, automobile racing, and “The Ohio State Buckeyes.” Robert was very active with the Transplant House of Cleveland, where he helped with fundraising and volunteering whenever he could help.
He was the loving father of Robert A. Gildone Jr., Christopher M. (Marguerita) Gildone, and Jeffrey M. Gildone; cherished grandfather of Victoria, Adriana, Matthew, Sophia, Anthony Joseph, Annalise, and Oliva; brother-in-law of Beverly Gildone; and uncle of Anthony, Dominic, and Deana.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine R. (nee Chiarello) Gildone (1997); parents, Anthony and Susan (nee Minnillo) Gildone; and brother, Anthony Gildone.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
