Obituary for Thomas E McLaughlin
Funeral Mass for Thomas E. McLaughlin, 75, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mr. McLaughlin passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born March 1, 1944, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 51 years.
Tom was an avid fisherman, golfer, loved to build, but especially loved his family and grandchildren. He was a “bragger of all his kids.”
He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Mary (nee Smith); loving father of Thomas (Deborah) of Kirtland, Kathleen (Christopher) Murray of Tampa, Fla., Patrick (Jessica) of Mentor, Sean of Mentor, and Martin (Jackie) of Mentor; cherished grandfather of Kaley, Aidan, Kiera, Connor, Brady, Seneca, Lil Marty, and Big Will; brother of John (Vivian) McLaughlin; and uncle of many. He also leaves his beloved canine companion, Bobby.
Tom was preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Kathleen (nee Corrigan) McLaughlin; and brothers, Patrick and Bernard.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be private.
