Obituary for Janet E Cika
Funeral Mass for Janet E. (nee Pfeiffer) Cika, 92, of Euclid, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Ss. Robert and William Parish, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid.
Mrs. Cika passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at the Slovene Home for the Aged in Cleveland.
She was born May 21, 1927, in East Cleveland.
Janet was a member of Ss. Robert and William Parish in Euclid, where she was also a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis and was a former CCD teacher at St. William’s Church. She loved reading, cooking, gardening, and entertaining.
She was the loving mother of James R. “Jim” Cika and Donald C. (Jessy) Cika; cherished grandmother of Kristen Tamburrino, Matthew Cika and Kaylani Cika; great-grandmother of Delayne Peters, Anthony Watkins and Adrianna Watkins; mother-in-law of Laura Cika; and aunt of many.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, James Cika; daughter, Janie “Jane Ellen” Cika Tamburrino; son, Jeffrey S. Cika; parents, Dewey and Marie (nee McDonnell) Pfeiffer; and sister, Rosemary (John “Jack,” dec.) Browne.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
