Funeral Mass for Richard John Gross, 90, of Euclid, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 175 E. 200th St., Euclid.
Mr. Gross passed away Feb. 5, 2020, at Euclid Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1929, in Cleveland, he had been a lifetime Cuyahoga County resident, living in Cleveland before moving to Euclid.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne from 1949 to 1952, and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish and Irish American Club East Side, Inc.
Mr. Gross was a retired Chief from the Bratenahl Police Department.
Richard was the beloved husband of 68 years to Margaret McGarry Gross; loving father of Mary Kay Cervenik (husband, Bill), Sister Joanne Gross, OSU, Donna Michals (husband, James, dec.), and Bob Gross (wife, Ann Fazio); cherished grandfather of Billy Cervenik Jr. (Jim Lowery), Katie McMahon (Chris), Alexandra Trueman (Michael), Bridgette McAndrew (Thomas), Elyse Gross, Maggie Michals, Jack Michals, and Danny Michals; and great-grandfather of Emma, Michael, Mackenzie and Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred H. and Helen C. (McGrath) Gross; and siblings, George Gross and Barbara (Sam, dec.) Messina.
Family will receive friends at from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
