Funeral Service for Joseph (Giuseppa) A. Germano, 93, of Euclid, will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Germano passed away Aug. 17, 2017.
Born July 1, 1924 in Cleveland, he was a resident of Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon. He lived in Euclid for 12 years and was a former resident of the Collinwood area of Cleveland.
Joseph was a World War II veteran U.S. Army. Many knew him by his nickname “Joe Cruz” and everyone knew him as a devoted Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan.
Mr. Germano worked for Yellow Cab, Addressograph Multigraph and retired from Shaker Numeric Manufacturing in Euclid in 1986.
Survivors include his children, Gary (Linda) Germano and Francine (Edmund) Gallon; grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Cupp, Michael (Melissa) Germano, Mark Germano, Christie (Ed) Beder, Travis Gallon, Vincent Gallon; great-grandson, Dominick Germano; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (nee Pasquale) Germano; parents, Michael (Michele) and Joann (Maria Giovanna) Germano; brothers, Tony and Frank Germano; and sisters, Carrie Germano and Mary Bodanza.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
