Private family services were held for Reta Mae (nee Shaw) Fairman, 91, of Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Mrs. Fairman passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at her residence with her family at her side.
Born May 1, 1923, in Portage, Pa., she had lived there before moving to Lake County 60 years ago, living in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Reta was a school crossing guard in Mentor-on-the-Lake and a full-time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and enjoyed puzzles, crossword puzzles, camping, traveling and singing.
She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Harry Nelson Fairman; loving mother of Joe (Fran) Lees of Homosassa, Fla., Sandra Mullens of Painesville, Georgeann (Dave) Gephart of Harpersfield Township, Ronald (Delma) Fairman of Titusville, Pa., Jane Corfee of Mentor Headlands and Linda (John) Pierce of Painesville; cherished grandmother of 19; and great-grandmother of 34.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Annie (nee Delehunt) Shaw; sons-in-law, Leeroy Mullens and Kent Corfee; two brothers; six sisters; and an infant daughter.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
