Funeral Mass for Gloria E. (nee McMillan) Marino, 88, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Mrs. Marino passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Mentor Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mentor.
Born March 21, 1926, in Cleveland, she had lived in Munson Township before moving to Mentor.
She was a member of St. Anselm’s Church in Chester Township for 34 years, where she a founder of the “Young at Hearts” and a member of the Women’s Guild of St. Anselm’s. Gloria enjoyed reading, crocheting and making rosaries for the Guild of St. Anselm’s. She was also a former member of the Willoughby Chamber of Commerce and the Willoughby Downtown Merchants.
Gloria and her late husband, John, owned and operated Marino Brothers Furniture Store in Willoughby for 42 years, retiring in 1984.
She was the loving mother of Paul T. (Sandra) Marino of Eastlake, Virginia L. (John) O’Donnell of Munson Township, Mary C. (Brad) Welch of Mentor and Gloria E. (Robert) Buwala of Cuyahoga Falls; mother-in-law of Lisa Marino; cherished grandmother of 14; and great-grandmother of 16.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Marino in 1990; son, Samuel J. Marino; daughter, Nancy A. Marino; and siblings, Richard, Thomas, James, Robert, Rosemary and Marjorie McMillan.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
