Prayer services for Clyde Ray Shenk, 82, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Shenk passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Jan. 7, 1933, in Fryburg, Pa., he had been a Lake County resident 62 years, living Mentor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the AMVETS Post in Mentor-on-the-Lake. He was also a former member of the Mentor Eagles and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and bowling.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Nancy Lee (nee Schaab) Shenk; loving father of Debbie Patterson, Len Shenk (Jan Fram), and Lisa (Robert) Zenz; cherished grandfather of Lauren Patterson, Chris Patterson, Heather (Jim) Tokarski and Bobby Zenz; brother of Virginia, Martha and Calvin; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his faithful companion, “Fussy.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Zelda (nee Delo) Shenk; son-in-law, Keith Patterson; and siblings, Esther, Stella, Hazel, Tom and Bill.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in his name b made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
