Funeral services for Steve Herczeg, 76, of Concord Township, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Herczeg passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at his residence in Concord Township with his family at his side.
Born Jan. 4, 1939, in Szombathely, Hungary, he had lived in West Virginia before moving to Lake County 38 years ago, living in Concord Township.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. Steve had a love for home and racing pigeons.
Mr. Herczeg was a retired employee of Tomco Products.
He was the beloved husband of Connie L. (nee Shaffer) Herczeg; loving father of Louise (William) Pascale of Pittsburgh, Pa., Grace (John) Barber of Willoughby, Steve (Stephenie) Herczeg Jr. of Concord Township, Tammy Herczeg of McDonald, Pa., and Anita Sherman of Hanover, Pa.; cherished grandfather of Steve III, Justin, Rebecca, Francesca, Wyatt, Vito, Ryan, Nicole, Ashley and Wesley; great-grandfather of six; and brother-in-law of Delores Earley of Chicora, Pa. He also leaves “special nieces,” Rosie, Susie, Kimmy and Laurie; and “special nephews,” Corky, Paul and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Gizella (nee Pass) Herczeg; and brother-in-law, Ted Earley.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
