Obituary for Bonita Reba "Bonnie" Maffit
Graveside services for Bonita Reba “Bonnie” (Beatty) Maffit, 72, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor. (Family and friends are asked please meet at the cemetery.)
Mrs. Maffit passed away June 22, 2015, at TriPoint Hospital in Concord Township.
Born July 20, 1942, in Scio, Ohio, and had lived in Mingo Junction before moving to Lake County 43 years ago, living in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
Mrs. Maffit had worked for the Mentor Schools We Care Program for more than 10 years.
Survivors are her husband, James Maffit; children, James Maffit Jr., Jamie (Chris) Stanek and Shawn (Heather, nee Warren) Maffit; grandchildren, Michael Maffit, Jimmy Maffit, Aubrey Maffit, Tori Stanek, Christopher Stanek, Mallory Maffit, Courtney Maffit and Gillian Maffit; sister, Darlene (Tom) Kakascik; brother, Harley Beatty; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Winona (Lambright) Beatty.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor, where a funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday. Pastor Byron Bufkin will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
