A memorial service in celebration of Mary Wedell's life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3319 West Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa., with a reception to follow.
Mary Firkley Wedell passed away July 2, 2015.
She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Sewickley, Pa., the daughter of John Henry and Mary Anne Serber Firkley.
She married Theodore R. Wedell Jan. 15, 1955. Mary and Ted lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Mt. Lebanon, Pa., Western Springs, Ill., and Upper St. Clair, Pa. During their 55 years of marriage, they raised three boys, loved visiting with their eight grandchildren, and traveled throughout the world. Mary was always full of joy and loved cooking for her family.
As an antiques expert, she served as the president of the Fullersburg Questers, and as a consumer advocate, she volunteered with the Better Business Bureau.
Mary was the loving mother of Mark T. (Carol), and Douglas H. (Kimberlie) Wedell; grandmother of Laura, Erin, Scott (Sharon), Tracy, Brian, Justin, Alyssa and Jessica; and mother-in-law of Christina Wedell.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore R. Wedell; son, Raymond C. Wedell; brother, John Firkley; and sister-in-law, Isabel Firkley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3319 West Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15216.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
