Obituary for John E Ryan

Funeral services for John E. Ryan, 81, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Pastor Byron Bufkin of Mentor Methodist Church will officiate the service.
Mr. Ryan passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Jan. 28, 1934, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for 60 years, living in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and putzing in his yard.
Mr. Ryan was a retired 35-year employee of T.R.W. He was also a member of the T.R.W. Old Guard.
He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Maria F. (nee Schmidt) Ryan; loving father of Yolanda Ryan and Nancy M. Lawrence; cherished grandfather of John J. Ryan Jr., Adam B. Ryan, Christine M. Ryan and Joshua W. Lawrence; great-grandfather of Mason Ryan, Evan Ryan, Logan Ryan and Kiley Quintero; brother of Jacqueline (Eugene) Burdette; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John J. Ryan; parents, John and Margaret (nee Bomke) Ryan; and brother, Raymond Ryan.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
